Answer:

100 Tiles had to be bought to fix on the plot.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Length of fence of square plot = 240 cm.

AS we know that ,

Length pf fence of square plot = perimeter of square = 240 cm.

Perimeter of square = 4 × length of one side

∴ length of one side = perimeter / 4

                                  = 240 / 4 = 60 cm.

Area of square = side × side

                         = 60 × 60 = 3600 sq. cm.

Length  of 1 tile =  9 cm.

Breadth of 1 tile = 4 cm.

Area of 1 tile = length × breadth = 9×4 =36 sq.cm.

Number of tiles are to be fixed in the plot = area of plot / area of 1 tile

                                                                    = 3600 / 36 = 100
