The new Variance is 100.

  • The standard deviation of the data is 5.
  • The variance and standard deviation are related to each other as

Standard Deviation = \sqrt{Variance}

  • Now each value is multiplied by 2.
  • The new standard deviation becomes 2 times of the previous standard deviation.
  • New Standard deviation = 2 ×old Standard deviation = 2 × 5 =10.
  • Now the new variance will be square of the new standard deviation.

New variance = (Standard deviation)² = (10)² = 100.

  • The new Variance is 100.
