What is standard form?
Standard form is an easy way of writing down very large numbers or very small numbers easily.
Standard form can also be another name for Scientific Notation.
Here is an example of Standard Form :
2 x 103 = 2000
This is the same as
2 x 1,000 = 2000
but by using Standard Form the equation is in its shorter form, this is especially useful for very large numbers and very small numbers.
For example :
7 x 10,000,000,000 = 70,000,000,000
An easier way to write this is in :
Standard Form =
7 x 1010 = 70,000,000,000
