Sulfa drugs belong to sulfonamides functional groups. They are originally antibacterial and contain antimicrobial agents therefore are used to treat fungal and bacterial infections.
They include sulfametoxazole-trimethoprim (which are Bactrim, Septra etc.)
and also include erythromycin-sulfisoxazole (which are Pediazole, Eryzole) etc.
