That state of equilibrium is said to be as isostatic balance and is found at all places on earth.

Explanation:

  • All part of the earth is in motion and earth being an active body needs to maintain a sort of balance with the flow of matter above the surface and below the surface. The flow of balance shows the isostatic principle shown by the sir pratt and airy as in the theory of isostasy.
  • The earth being a dynamic system reacts to the pulls and pushes of pressures in many different ways.
  • An example of this can be seen in the plate tectonics and mantle convection. The relative changes in the relative changes in the sea levels are also one of the causes of different isostatic balance acting on them.
  • The highlands are compensated by the flowage of continuous material form the lowlands, the same mater adds up form under the mantel and gains height. And that low density of mountain ranges is due to the expansion of the crust.
