Using equation (1) we get -

d=11.11 parsecs

Thus, the distance between Arcturus and the Earth is 11.11 parsecs

b) 1 light-year=0.3 parsecs

Thus, 11.11 parsecs=37 light-year

= 11.11 parsecs  = 37 light-year

Therefore, it will take 37 light years it to send a light message from Earth to Arcturus
