yes it had a very surprising ending when the truth is revealed of mr Easton being the culprit and the glum faced man to be the real marshal ..

we see that at the end after the two linked couple leave the coach , the other two passengers sitting beside have a conversation about the good character of the people in the west.. and when the other asks , mr Easton to be young for being a marshal , the truth is revealed by the other that the a marshal never handcuffs his right hand..

hence we see that by the ' hands ' the truth is revealed giving a very surprising ending to the story ' hearts and hand ' ...
