The story conveys the downside of being arrogant and one should not overstate his talent to acquire false pride as it will only land him in trouble. The king realized that he could not possibly provide something as perfect, as intricate as this food and shelter.

He realized that it is really God who provides for all His subjects. We should realize that if God is able to provide for even the smallest of his creatures like insects, ultimately he will be providing for us too.
