Answer:
It is true the story of the Happy Prince is an indirect criticism of the insensitivity, selfishness and shallow thinking of men. If people in the city where Happy Prince’s statue was, were not so insensitive and selfish, there would not be so many people living in suffering and poverty. Happy Prince gave his everything to the needy and distressed people. When the statue of the Happy prince was denuded of his gold cover, the councilor and the Mayor got the statue pulled down. They threw the Prince’s heart and the dead swallow on a heap.
What insensitive and selfish men discarded as waste, God took them to his heaven as adornments.
