let the initial strength of the school be x
the new strength when increased by 20% is x +(20/100)x => (120/100)x => 1.2x
when the strength is decreased by 20% then the new strength will be
1.2x - (20/100)(1.2x)
=> 1.2x - (0.2)(1.2x)
=> 1.2x - 0.24x
=> 0.96 x which is lesser than the initial strength (1x)

ashwani53: sorry wrong Answer is less 4 %
anikethatmakuri: its the sane thing
anikethatmakuri: same*
anikethatmakuri: it was 1x which reduced to 0.96x
anikethatmakuri: so i guess u can calculate the percentage difference
anikethatmakuri: let me make it easy for u.... x-0.96x = 0.04x which can be written as (4/100)x => 4% of x has reduced
ashwani53: thanks
