Answer:

let the number of rows be x,then

no.of students in a row be y,yhen

y+3=x-1 _______________ 1

y-3=x+2_________________ 2

from 1 equation

y+4=x

substitute x in 2 equation

y-3=y+4+2

y-3=y+6

y=y+6+3

y=y+9

y=9

then,

from any equation 1 or 2 substitute y

y-3=x+2

9-3=x+2

6=x+2

6-2=x

4=x

no of rows =4

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

LET THE ROWS BE X AND LET THE STUDENTS IN THE ROW  BE Y

THEN THE TOTAL NUMBER OF STUDENTS N THE CLASS = XY

1.] (X-1)(Y+3)=XY

XY+3X-1Y-3=XY

XY+3X-1Y = 3  ( FIRST EQUATION )

2.] (X+2)(Y-3)=XY

{XY+(-3X)+2Y-6=XY

3X+2Y=6 ( SECOND EQUATION )

ON ADDING THE VALUES OF Y (STUDENTS) = 3 STUDENTS

NOW, PUT THE VALUE OF Y IN EQUATION 1

3X-3=3

3X=3+3

X = 9/3

X=3

ROWS ARE 3

3X+2Y=6

3X=6+6

3X=12
