The correct answer is option A, that is, it cannot convert sugar to starch.

The SH2 gene enormously elevates the concentration of sugar in the endosperm, and that is, why the SH2 varieties of corns are also known as supersweets. The seeds of these varieties exhibit very minimal starch in them, so they look shrunken and are less in weight in comparison to the other sweet corn seeds. The SH2 gene slows the transformation of simple sugars to starch.
