Answer:-

☆ Total sugar purchased by both was 35/6 kg.☆

Step by step explanation-

Given-

  • Total amount of sugar purchased by Riya = \sf {3 \frac{1}{3}kg}

  • Total amount of sugar purchased by Manish= \sf {2 \frac{1}{2}kg}

Now, total amount of sugar purchased by both Riya and Manish-

\sf {➱ 3\frac{1}{3}kg  + 2 \frac{1}{2} kg}

Now, converting it into proper fraction,

\sf {➱  \frac{10}{ 3}  +  \frac{5}{2} kg}

Then, taking the LCM of 3 and 2 and adding the fraction.

LCM of 3 and 2 is 6.

\sf {➱ \frac{20 + 15}{6}kg =   \frac{35}{6} kg= 5 \frac{5}{6 }kg}

Hence, total amount of sugar purchased by Riya and Manish was 35/6 kg.

Answer:

The sugar purchased by Riya was of weight

= 3 1/3 kg = 10/3 kg

The sugar purchased by Manish was of weight

= 2 1/2 kg = 5/2 kg

So the total amount of sugar was produced by both

= ( 10/3 + 5/2) kg

= ( 20 + 15) /6 kg

= 35/6 kg
