Ghiyas-ud-Din Balban invited Madhav Acharya, the propagator of Dvaita Vedanta.
It is said that Madhav Acharya on a tour to Northern areas defied the decree of Sultan by crossing the river. So he was invited by Balban to his court where he impressed the Sul;tan by his fearlessness, knowledge and philosophy. The Sultan then paid much respect to him and gave him gifts as well.
