Answer:

Answer- The above question is from the chapter 'Quadratic Equations'.

Factorization in quadratic equations is a process of making factors of middle-term of a quadratic equation to find its roots.

Question: Find the roots of the equation 2x² - 5x + 3=0 by factorization.

Solution: In 2x² - 5x + 3 = 0

Sum = -5x

Product = 2 × 3 = 6

Factors= -2x , -3x

2x² - 5x + 3 = 0

2x² - 3x - 2x + 3 = 0

Taking out common,

x (2x - 3) - 1 (2x - 3) = 0

(2x - 3) (x - 1) = 0

Now, either 2x - 3 = 0

x = 3/2

Or x - 1 = 0

x = 1

So, x = 3/2 or 1.

∴ Roots of equation 2x² - 5x + 3=0 are 3/2 and 1.
