To find:

Value of x = ?

Solution:

Consider the first Equation.

x + y + z = 12

Grouping (x + z),

(x + z) + y = 12

From Equation 2, we know the value of (x + z). So

9 + y = 12

➝ y = 12 - 9

➝ y = 3

The value of x is 5 times the value of y

x = 5y

➟ x = 5(3)

➣ x = 15

∴ The value of x is 15
