Given that:-

-\frac{1}{2} and \frac{1}{2}

As we have to find the sum,

For that, we need to use the BODMAS rule,

By adding both given term, we get

=>(-\frac{1}{2})+(\frac{1}{2})

=>0

Hence, the sum of -\frac{1}{2} and \frac{1}{2} is 0.

Here we have to find out the sum of  -1/2 and 1/2

Mathematically it can be written as

\frac{-1}{2} + \frac{1}{2}

  • Now, according to the rule, if one value is negative and one value is positive then the numbers have to be subtracted and the final result will have the value of the greater number.

        For example, if we have to add -3 and 2

2 - 3= -1 (negative sign because among 2 and 3, 3 is the greater number and has a negative sign)

  • In this question, as one value is positive and one value is negative and also both the values are equal, the difference will be 0.

         \frac{-1}{2} + \frac{1}{2} = 0

The answer will be 0.
