To find : missing number

Given : The sum of \frac{-1}{2}  and ?  is 0 .

Solution:

  • Let , missing number be x .
  • As per given data we know that the sum of \frac{-1}{2}  and ?  is 0 .
  • Therefore , we represent given condition as , \frac{-1}{2} + x= 0
  • Now , we solve for x by transposition method .
  • We transfer constants at RHS leaving variable at LHS .
  • \frac{-1}{2} + x= 0

        x =0 + \frac{1}{2} \\x =  \frac{1}{2}

Hence , value of x is \frac{1}{2}  .Therefore , we say that sum of \frac{-1}{2}  and \frac{1}{2}   is 0 .

Note : we assumed missing value as x .
