let the number = x , x+13

=) x+x+13 = 43

2x = 43-13

x = 30/2

x = 15

and second number = x + 13

= 13 + 15

= 28

Answer. the numbers are 28 and 15

let the numbers be x and y

given

x + y = 43 .....(1)\\  \\ x - y = 13 ......(2)\\  \\ now \\  \\ (1) + (2) \\  \\  =  > 2x = 56 \\  \\  =  > x = 28 \\  \\ also \\  \\ y = x - 13 \\  \\ y = 15 \\  \\

Therefore the numbers are

28 and 15 respectively

hope it helps
