Let the first number be x
Therefore second number= (30-x) [since their sum is 30]
x-(30-x)= 4
x-(30-x)= 4
x-30+x=4
2x= 4+30
2x= 34
x= 34/2
x= 17
Answer- The first number is 17.
The second number is 30-17= 13.
Hope this helps! :)
