Sum of their reciprocals.

Solution :

Let the two numbers be m & n.

1st condition :

⇒ m + n = 36 -(1)

2nd condition :

⇒ mn = 248 -(2)

Now,

⇒ Sum of their reciprocals = 1/m + 1/n

⇒ Sum of their reciprocals = (m + n)/mn

⇒ Sum of their reciprocals = 36/248

Putting values from (1) & (2) :

⇒ Sum of their reciprocals = 9/62

 ∴ Sum of the reciprocals of the numbers is : 9/62.
