let the three consecutive no. be s, x+1, x+2.
x+x+2+x+4=48
3x+6=48
3x=48-6
3x=42
x=42/3
x=14
now,
x=14 so,
x+1= 14+2= 16
x+2= 14+4= 18
the greatest even number= 18
