Define x:
Let the smallest number be x
The other number is (x + 1) and (x + 2)
Solve x:
The sum is 5 more than the smallest integer
x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = x + 5
x + x + 1 + x + 2 = x + 5
3x + 3 = x + 5
2x = 2
x = 1
Find the numbers:
Smallest = x = 1
The next number is x + 1 = 1 + 1 = 2
The next number is x + 2 = 1 + 2 = 3
Answer: The numbers are 1, 2 and 3
