let the first odd number be x

2nd odd number = x+2

3rd odd number = x+4

(odd no + even no gives an odd no . eg -  5+2=7 , here 5 is an odd number and 2 is an even number , when we add them we get an odd number.)

according to the question ,

x+x+2+x+4=255

3x+6=255

3x=255-6

3x=249

x= 249/3

x= 83

hence , first odd number = 83

2nd odd number = 83 + 2 = 85

3rd odd number = 83 + 4 = 87

Verification :

83 + 85 + 87 = 255

hence , the three consecutive odd numbers , are 83,85 and 87
