Step-by-step explanation:

let the AP be a-d, a, a+d.

according to first condition,

a-d+a+a+d=36

3a=36

a=36/3

a=12

according to second condition,

(a-d)(a+d) a = 1536

(a²-d²) a= 1536

[(12)²-d²] 12 = 1536

144-d²= 1536/12

144-d²= 128

d²= 144 - 128

d²= 16

d = √16

d = +4

if d=4 then,

a-d=12-4=8

a=12

a+d=12+4=16

if d=-4 then,

a-d=12-(-4)=12+4=16

a=12

a+d=12+(-4)=12-4=8

so the numbers in an AP are 8,12,16 or 16,12,8.
