Let the first number = x.
Given that
(x) + (x +1) + (x + 2) + (x + 3) = 40
=> x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 = 40
=> 4x + 6 = 40
=> 4x = 40 - 6 = 34
Therefore x = 8.5.
Therefore the numbers are 8.5, 9.5, 10.5, 11.5.

Given that
(x)(x+1)(x+2)(x+3) = 91
=> (8.5)(9.5)(10.5)(11.5)
=> 91
It is True.
