Correct Question :

The Sum of 4 Consecutive Numbers is 26. If First Number is n, then Find the Numbers.

AnswEr :

Let the Consecutive Numbers be n, (n + 1), (n + 2) and, (n + 3)

According to the Question Now :

⇒ (1st + 2nd + 3rd + 4th) Number = 26

⇒ n + (n + 1) + (n + 2) + (n + 3) = 26

⇒ 4n + 6 = 26

⇒ 4n = 26 - 6

⇒ 4n = 20

  • Dividing Both term by 4

n = 5

_________________________________

Consecutive Numbers will be :

◗ n = 5

◗ (n + 1) = (5 + 1) = 6

◗ (n + 2) = (5 + 2) = 7

◗ (n + 3) = (5 + 3) = 8

Consecutive Numbers are 5, 6, 7 and 8.

Verification :

⇒ (1st + 2nd + 3rd + 4th) Number = 26

⇒ 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 = 26

The Sum of 4 Consecutive Numbers is 26. If First Number is n, then Find the Numbers.

\bf{\Huge{\underline{\boxed{\rm{\red{ANSWER\::}}}}}}

Given:

The sum of four consecutive number is 26.

To find:

The numbers.

\bf{\Large{\underline{\sf{\green{Explanation\::}}}}}

Let the four consecutive numbers are;

  • First number= n
  • Second number= (n+1)
  • Third number= (n+2)
  • Fourth number= (n+3)

A/q

→ n + n+1 + n+2 + n+3 = 26

→ 4n + 6 =26

→ 4n = 26 -6

→ 4n = 20

→ n = \cancel{\frac{20}{4} }

→ n = 5

Now,

  • 1st consecutive number,n = 5
  • 2nd consecutive number,(n+1)= 5+1= 6
  • 3rd consecutive number,(n+2)= 5+2= 7
  • 4th consecutive number,(n+3)= 5+3= 8
