Let the first number be x

The next four consecutive numbers :

x + 1 , x + 2 , x + 3 , x + 4

A.T.Q.

x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 + x + 4 = 120

=> 5x + 10 = 120

=> 5x = 110

=> x = 110/5

=> x = 22

The 5 consecutive numbers are 22 , 23 , 24 , 25 and 26.

Answer:

tex]Let the smallest number be x[/tex]

other numbers are (x + 1), ( x + 2), (x + 3) and (x + 4)\\x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) + (x + 3) + (x + 4) = 120\\x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 + x + 4 = 120\\

5x + 10 = 120\\5x = 110\\x = 22\\first number = x = 22\\second number = x + 1 = 23\\Third  number = x + 2 = 24\\fourth  number = x + 3 = 25\\Fifth number = x + 4 = 26

The third number is 24
