Answer:

Let the first odd no. be x

5 consecutive odd no. = x , (x + 2), (x+4), (x+6) , (x+8)

Total sum = 145

A/q

x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8 = 145

=> 5x + 20 = 145

=> 5x = 145 - 20

=> 5x = 125

=> x = 125/5

= 25

Now,

1st no. = x = 25

2nd no. = x + 2 = 25+2 = 27

3rd no. = x+4 = 25 + 4 = 29

4th no. = x + 6 = 25+6 = 31

5th no. = x+8 = 25 + 8 = 33

Hence , the 3rd no. is 29 .

Answer:

let the 5 consecutive no.s be

x, x+1, x+2, x+3, x+4

: According to the question

x+x+1+x+2+x+3+x+4=145

their sum:

5x+10=145

5x=145-10

5x=135

x=135/5

x=27

:. the third consecutive no is

x+2= 27+2

:. the third no is 29
