The sum of 500 is divided among three girls, Alma , Lorna and Fe in a ratio 2:3:5. What is the share of each girl? (in colon form - _:_:___ numeric only)

Answer:

2x+3x+5x=500

10x=500

transpose 10 to RHS

x=500/10

x=50

Alma=2x=2×50=100

Lorna=3x=3×50=150

Fe=5x=5×50=250

100:150:250
