the sum of 6th and 8th terms of an ap is 101 and the sum of 10th and 16th terms of an ap is 178 find the first three terms of an ap

a+5d+a+7d= 101

2a+12d=101


a+9d+a+15d=178

2a+24d=178


d=77/12

a=12

(a+5d)+(a+7d)=101

=>2a+12d=101......(1)

(a+9d)(a+15d)=178....(2)

(1)-(2) gives

-12d=-77 =>d=77/12

therefore, first three terms are a, a+d,a+2d  = 12, 12+77/12, 12 + 2*77/12

=12, 221/12, 298/12
