Solution:

Let money with A be Rs. X and money with B be Rs. y .

A/Q

x + y = 133

y = 133 - x _____(1)

When 9 Rs. are added to A and 7 subtracted from B , A's money will be 4 times of B

(x + 9) = 4 ( y - 7 )

x + 9 = 4 y - 28

x + 9 = 4 ( 133 - x) - 28 [From equation 1]

x + 9 = 532 - 4x - 28

x + 4x = 532 - 28 - 9

5x = 495

x = 495/5

x = 99

  • So , money with A = Rs. 99
  • Money with B = 133 - 99 = Rs. 34

Verification :

99 + 9 = 4 ( 34 - 7)

108 = 4 × 27

108 = 108

LHS = RHS

Hence verified
