let the tens digit be x and units digit be y

also, 10x + y = Original Number

x + y = 8-----i

if the digits are reversed
then, tens digit = y
units digit = x

then, 10y + x + 18 = 10x + y
=> 9x-9y= 18
=>x-y = 2-----ii

adding i and ii

2x = 10
=> x = 5
y = 3
therefore, the number is 35

abhishekdasonl: Original number is 53 and the new number is 53
abhishekdasonl: new number is 35
Lolll: thanks a lot.. but it is linear equation in one variable
abhishekdasonl: hmm! cant solve with ine variable
Lolll: yes.. thats the problem
