and its reciprocal be 1/x
on simplyfying ,we get x + 1/x = 74/35
35x² + 35 = 74x
35x² – 74x + 35 = 0
(5x – 7)(7x – 5) = 0
(5x – 7) = 0
5x = 7
x = 7/5
(7x – 5) = 0
7x = 5
x = 5/7
So 5/7 and 7/5 which are reciprocals of each other is the answer.
