Let the number be x

x +  \frac{1}{x}  =  \frac{8}{3}

 \frac{ {x}^{2} + 1 }{x}  =  \frac{8}{3}

3( {x}^{2}  + 1) = 8x

3 {x}^{2}  + 3 = 8x

3 {x}^{2}  + 3 - 8x = 0

3 {x}^{2}  - 8x + 3 = 0

Option a is correct
