Given:

Sum of two digit number and the number obtained by reversing the digits=165.

Difference between the two digits=3.

To Find:

The required number.

Solution:

Let, 10x+y be the two-digit number.

Then, the numbers obtained by reversing the two-digit number=10y+x.

According to question,

10x+y+10y+x=165

=11x+11y=165

=11(x+y)=165

=x+y=15.......equation(1)

Also, x-y=3...........equation(2)

On adding equation (1) and (2)

we get, x+y+x-y=15+3

2x=18

x=9.

Now, x-y=3

9-y=3

so,y=6

Therefore the required number is 96.
