Given:-

  • The sum of the digits of a two digits number is 14.
  • Reversed number is greater than the original number by 36.

To find:-

  • Find the original number.?

Solutions:-

  • Let the digits at ten's place be x.
  • Let the digits at unit's place by y.

The sum of the digits to a two digits number is 14.

=> x + y = 14

=> x = 14 - y .........(i).

Reversed number is greater than the original number by 36.

=> 10x + y = 10y + x + 36

=> 10x + y - 10y - x - 36 = 0

=> 9x - 9y - 36 = 0

=> 9(x - y - 4) = 0

=> x - y - 4 = 0 ...........(ii).

Putting the value of x in Eq (i).

=> x - y - 4 = 0

=> 14 - y - y - 4 = 0

=> 10 = 2y

=> y = 10/2

=> y = 5

So, Number => 10x + y

=> 10 × 9 + 5

=> 90 + 5

=> 95

Hence, the number formed is 95.
