The sum of ages of 5 children born at the intervals of 3 years each is 50 years. What is the age of the youngest child?

let the age of the youngest one be x,then,
x+x+3+x+6+x+9+x+12=50 (given,their age difference is 3 years each)
=>5x+30=50
=>5x=20,hence x=4

The five children's ages will be :-
x, x + 3, x + 6, x + 9, x + 12.
Added together this gives:
5x + 30
Total of ages = 50
5x + 30 = 50
5x = 50 - 30
5x = 20
x = 4.

The youngest child is 4 years old.
