Answer:

\huge{\boxed{\rm{\red{Son's age = 10.5 years}}}}

\huge{\boxed{\rm{\red{Father's  age =43.5 years}}}}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

The sum of ages of a father and his son is 54 years. After 6 years, father will be 3times the age of the son.

To find:-

Find their present age.

Solution:-

Let the present age of son be X years

Then his father's present age =(54-x ) years

since sum of their ages is 54 years

after six years , Age of Son=(X+6) year

and his father's age=54-X+6=60-X years

but given that , after 6 years father's age will be three times the age of his son

=>60-X=3(X+6)

=>60-X=3X+18

=>60-18=3X+X

=>4X=42

=>X=42/4

=>X=21/2

=>X=10.5

and 54-X=54-10.5=43.5 years

Answer:-

Present Age of Son=10.5 years

Present Age of father=43.5 years

Check:-

Sum of their ages =10.5+43.5=54 years

After 6 years son's and father's ages are 16.5 years and 49.5 years

=>3(16.5)=49.5 years
