• we have to find present Ages of man and his son.

Solution :

Let the present age of man be x years

Let the present age of son be y years

✫According to Question :

Sum of ages of man and his son is 52.

→ x + y = 52

→ x = 52 - y ......1)

8 years ago :

• Age of son = y - 8
• Age of man = 8(y - 8)

→ x - 8 = 8(y - 8)

→ 52 - y - 8 = 8y - 64

→ 52 + 64 - 8 = 8y + y

→ 116 - 8 = 9y

→ 108 = 9y

→ y = 108/9

→ y = 12

• Putting value of y in ..(1)

→ x = 52 - y

→ x = 52 - 12

→ x = 40

Hence,

• Present Age of father is 40 years
• Present Age of son is 12 years
