Answer:

Let X = the present age of the father and Y = the present age of the son.

X+Y=60 so X=60-Y

X+14=3*(Y+14)

so X=3*(Y+14)-14

so X=3Y+28

Also, X=60-Y

So

60-Y=3Y+28

32=4Y

8=Y

X= 60-Y = 60-8 and so X=52

The present age of the father is 52 years old.

Above assumes all figures in years, as not all units were specified. Also that the species is human. (If the sum of the age of the father and son is 60 months, and the species is fruitbat, well, then I’m wrong).
