Let Ankita's age be y

Now accirding to question

x + y = 40 (1)

After 10 years Ritu will be as old as Ankita
so,

10 + x = y (present age of ankita)

y - x = 10 (2)

Adding 1 and 2, we get

2y = 50

y = 25

And now x + y =40

Therefore x= 15

So Age of Ritu=15
Age of Ankita=25
