Solution

Given :-

  • The sum of digits of a 2 digit number is 10. If we reverse the digits the new number will be 54 more than the original number.

To Find :-

  • The original number.

Step-by-Step-Explaination :-

Let the two digit of number be x and y

x + y = 10 .............. ( 1 )

Original number = 10x + y

Reverse number = 10y + x

10y + x = 54 + ( 10x + y )

x - 10x + 10y - y = 54

9x - 9y = 54

9 ( y - x ) = 54

y - x = 54/9 = 6

y = x + 6 ................ ( 2 )

Substitute ( 2 ) in ( 1 )

x + y = 10

x + ( x + 6 ) = 10

2x + 6 = 10

x = 4/2 = 2

x = 10 - 2 = 8

Original number = 10x + y = 28
