Let the unit digit = x

and let the tens digit = y

Then the no. is = 10y+x

Reversed No = 10x+y

Case 1. x+y = 7.............(1)

Case 2.

= 10x+y = 10y+x-9

= 9x-9y = 9

= x-y = 1.............(2)

= adding (1) and (2)

= 2x = 8

= x = 4

put the value of x in (1)

= 4+y = 7

= y = 3

then the Number is 10y+x

= 10 . 3+4

= 34. is the No.

KVaishu: The higher number should be the answer
KVaishu: Please check
kuldeep147: no. is either 43 and 34 both are correct.
KVaishu: The question says that if the number's digits are reversed, the number is decreased by 9. So, the original number is the higher number.
KVaishu: This is not to argue with you
KVaishu: Anyway you can edit your answer
KVaishu: : D
kuldeep147: o. K.
azram2003: both of you, thank you for your help
