The sum of digits of two digit number is 12 if the digits are reversed the new number is 12 less than twice the original number .Find the original number 0

let the original two Digit no. be XY

x+y=12~~~~eq(1)

if the digits are reversed the no. is YX

YX is 12 less than the original no.

YX = XY--12

10y+1x =10x+y--12

10y-y. =10x-1x--12

9y =9x--12

on dividing with 3 on both sides

3y = 3x--4

on transpoging

3x-3y=4 ~~~~eq(2)

eq(1)×3=

3x+3y=36

3x-3y=04

y=32/6

y= 16//3

x+y=12

x= 12-y

=12-16/3

=(36-16)/3

=20/3

now the original no. is

xy= 20/3×16/3

=320/9
