in 1st case,

x+2y=70---(i)

in 2nd case,
A/q,
2x+y=95-----(ii)

multiplying 2 to (i)
2x+4y=140---(iii)

(iii)-(ii)
2x+4y=140
2x+y=95
----------------
3y=45
y=15

using y=15 in (i)

x+2y=70
x+30=70
x=40....

Let the present age of the Father and the Son be x and y years respectively. 

According to the Question,

                    x + 2y = 70
      Thus,     x = 70 - 2y --------------------------eq(i)
Also,
               2x + y = 95 ---------------------------eq(ii)

Putting the eq(i) in eq(2),
           
             2(70 -2y) + y = 95
              140 -4y + y = 95
               140 - 3y = 95
               3y = 140 - 95
                 3y = 45
                  y = 45/3
                 y = 15 years.

Putting y = 15 years in eq(i) 
             x + 2(15) = 70
               x + 30 = 70 
              x = 70 - 30
             x = 40 years.

Thus the present age of Father = x 
                                                   = 40 years.
-------------------------------Son = y
                                            = 15 years.
