Let daughter's age be X, father's age be Y

X+Y=54

Father's age Y =54-X

after 5 years their age

daughter's age= X+5

Father's age=54-X+5=59-X

As per question,

59-X=3*(X+5)

59-X=3X+15

3X+X=59-15=44

4X=44

X=44/4=11years

so, daughter's age=11years

Father's age=54-11=43years

Hence, daughter's age =11years and father's age =43 years.

hope it helps you
