The largest multiple of 6 is 420.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the five consecutive multiples of 6 = x, (x + 6), (x + 12), (x + 18) and (x + 24)

To find, the largest multiple of 6 = ?

According to question,

The sum of five consecutive multiples of 6  = 2040

∴ x + (x + 6) + (x + 12) + (x + 18) + (x + 24) = 2040

⇒ x + x + 6 + x+ 12 + x + 18 + x + 24 = 2040

⇒ 5x + 60 = 2040

⇒ 5x = 2040 - 60 = 1980

⇒ x = \dfrac{1980}{5} =396

∴ The five consecutive multiples of 6

= 396, (396 + 6), (396 + 12), (396 + 18) and (396 + 24)

= 396, 402, 408, 414 and 420

Thus, the largest multiple of 6 is 420.
