sum of 4 con. even no. =4a+12

sum of 3 con. odd no. = 3b+6

given that 4a+12 = 3b+6+23 (1)

and (b+4)-a= 3

ie. a-b = -1 (2)

from (1) & (2)

4a-3b = 17 (3)

a-b = -1 (4)

from (3) & (4) by elimination of a and b we get :-

a=14 & b= 13 as the smallest even and odd nos. here.

Answer:

-4

Step-by-step explanation:

(x+x+2+x+4+x+6)= four consecutive even number sum

=>4x+12.

(y+y+2+y+4)= three consecutive odd number sum

=>3y+6.

from first line of question

4x+12=3y+6+23

4x+12=3y+29

4x=3y+17-----(i)

from second line of question

x-(y+4)=3

x-y-4=3

y=x-7-----(ii)

substituting (ii) in (i),

4x=3(x-7)+17

we get,

x=-4.

now putting the value of x in sum of four even consecutive number, we get,

4x+12

=>4(-4)+12

=-4(ANS)
