Answer:

Consecutive numbers are numbers that come after the number.

Eg: 2,3 and 4 and consecutive numbers as they come in order.

So,

Let the first consecutive no be x

Let the second consecutive number be x + 1

Let the third consecutive number be x + 2

Let the fourth consecutive number be x + 3

Sum of the four consecutive numbers = 66

∴ x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 = 66

=( x + x + x + x ) + 1 + 2 + 3 = 66

= 4x + 6 = 66

= 4x = 66 - 6 ( Transpostion method )

= 4x = 60

= x = 60 / 4 ( Transpostion method )

= x = 15

∴ First consecutive number = 15

∴ Second consecutive number = 15 + 1 = 16

∴ Third consecutive number = 15 + 2 = 17

∴ Fourth consecutive number = 15 + 3 = 18

∴ The four consecutive numbers are 15, 16, 17 and 18.

Answer:

Let 1st consecutive no be: x

2nd consecutive no be: x+1

3rd consecutive no be : x+2

4th consecutive no be: x+3

Now according to the question:

x+x+1+x+2+x+3=66

4x+1+2+3=66

4x+6=66

4x=66-6 ( transposing)

4x=60

x=60/4 (transposing)

x=15

Now ,

1st no : x=15

2nd no: x+1= 15+1=16

3rd no: x+2=15+2=17

4th no : x+3=15+3=18

I hope this is helpful.
